Torpedo Cares – Making a Splash of a Difference

To ensure our programmes are accessible to those who need them most, we have developed a dedicated social programme that demonstrates our commitment to Additionality. This means we are providing opportunities that would not exist without our specific efforts.

Our “Torpedo Cares” initiative includes:

  • Subsidised Programme Fees for students from lower-income families: We offer heavily subsidised or fully-funded slots for our swimming and diving classes, ensuring financial barriers do not prevent participation.
  • Specialised Training and Workshops: Our instructors are trained to work with vulnerable youths, using tailored teaching methods to foster trust, encourage perseverance, and develop essential life skills and promote well-being through curated programmes and workshops We also provide aqua fitness programmes for seniors, to promote general fitness and mobility rehabilitation.
  • Community Partnerships: We actively partner with social service agencies and national sports agencies to identify and engage with our beneficiaries, creating a seamless and supportive pathway for them to join our programmes.
  • Sustainable Equipment: We strive to provide swimming gear and training aids crafted from recycled, biodegradable, or responsibly‑sourced materials. Our suppliers share our vision of reducing environmental impact by implementing ethical and low‑waste manufacturing practices. We maintain our equipment carefully to extend its lifespan, minimizing unnecessary replacements and reducing waste. Our students are also encouraged to recycle their equipment when they are no longer in service.
