31 Torpedo club divers and 8 Torpedo members took part in the 10th Singapore Inter-Schools Diving Championships from 10-11 September and won 22 Golds out of 45 golds on offer. Well done Team Torpedo and coaches!
The National Day Family Aquatics Challenge is a call for everyone to celebrate Singapore’s Birthday by staying active and enjoy aquatic sports (swimming, diving and artistic swimming) as a family. Swim up to 57 laps (25m per lap) as a family and try out the basics of diving. You will be taught to do jumps at the different heights (1m/3m/5m/7.5m) of the dive tower too. This challenge also serves as a platform to outreach to the community as well as promote our venue and offerings.

Registration fees: Family (3-5pax): $20 1 parent + 1 child: $10 2 adults (16 years and above): $10
1. Swimming Challenge You will be required to complete 57 laps (25m per lap) as a family! Kick boards or floatation aids are allowed to be used throughout the swim. You may swim together to complete the total number of laps as a family too. Children may require parental supervisory based on the following guideline:

Participants will also have the opportunity to jump off the different heights of the diving tower (1m/3m/5m/7.5m). No prior diving experience is required! You will be taught the basics of diving by our qualified diving coaches before attempting the challenge. Participants must be proficient (able to swim 50m without aid in a recognized stroke) to participate.
3. Other Activities
Family Dress Challenge. – Dress up as a common theme or in red and white swim wear with your family.
Artistic Swimming Try-outs. – This will be done during the diving segment. Pre-registration is required to participate in the try-outs. – Participants must be proficient (able to swim 50m without aid in a recognized stroke) to participate.
Torpedo partnered with Singapore Sports Hub to carry out the Aquatics Holiday Camp from the 6th to 20th of June. The camp provided students the chance to sharpen their skills in either swimming, diving or artistic swimming. Additionally, they were given the opportunity and flexibility to attempt the other sports and learn the basics from our budding coaches!
Certificates were handed out to each participant to commemorate their participation and effort throughout the programme. We look forward to introducing more similar camps to further expose new and present students to the aquatic sports offered!
